Every year, Abingdon & Witney College celebrate the achievements of its students on a special evening at Blenheim Palace.

Held at the end of term in the grand surroundings of the Orangery Room at the Palace, the Student of the Year Awards (SOTYA) recognise amazing students from across the College's curriculum.

Well over 100 students, staff, friends, and family attend SoTYA and hear from our Heads of Faculty about student successes, the challenges students have faced and have overcome, and many other inspiring stories.

There are 31 different award categories, each identifying students and apprentices who have excelled and contributed immensely to their class, the community or the work of their employer.

Guests are treated to drinks and canapes on arrival, with our Principal, Di Batchelor, delivering the opening speech.

Entertainment is provided during the interval by the College's talented Performing Arts students, before a closing speech from a guest speaker ends the evening – in the past, this has been given by Robert Courts, MP for Witney & West Oxfordshire, and Gavin Maitland-Smith, Head of the College's Board of Governors.
