Last night, Abingdon & Witney College hosted the annual West Oxfordshire Schools Careers Partnership Careers Fair at the Witney Campus, welcoming over 600 students.
The College hosted the event on behalf of the West Oxfordshire Schools Careers Partnership (WOSCP), a partnership between nine schools and education providers who work together to improve career provision across West Oxfordshire.

As Chair of the group, I was so pleased to see over 600 students and their parents attend, from all of our schools. The event had a real buzz and feedback was very positive, which is fantastic. The Careers Fair gives students and their parents/carers a chance to directly engage with a wide range of employers and training providers. The event enables students to conduct research, gather information, and ask questions about different courses, roles, and sectors – all of which support good decision-making for post-16 and post-18 options.
By organizing a collaborative event, the fair also provides a brilliant opportunity for exhibitors to engage with students from across the county. The event gives employers a chance to share opportunities, promote their sector or available training, and encourage students into their industry, which, in turn, supports the successful recruitment of employees with the right skill set in the future.
WOSCP is led by the careers leads at each school/education provider who aim to meet the standard of all eight Gatsby Benchmarks in every school/college through collaborative sharing of information, experience, and expertise, and improved destination outcomes through careers education, information, advice, and guidance. The group delivers two key careers events each year, one of which is the annual Careers Fair hosted by Abingdon & Witney College.
