The Centre, which opened in 2015 and cost a total of £2m, provides students from all study levels with access to high-quality tools, facilities and teaching. Whether it’s school leavers on the path to a career as a skilled tradesperson or adult learners looking for some DIY knowledge, the multi-level layout within the Centre can accommodate groups of all sizes.
On the top level, students will find multiple work benches for electrical circuitry and plumbing purposes and industry-standard tools, including Irwin Hilmor pipe and tube benders, Rothenberger cutters and large stocks of materials.
Naturally, on our courses there is a focus on the proper use of these tools and materials, and also planning projects correctly – this could be connecting bathroom units by welding copper pipework, making bespoke furniture, or learning any number of interesting and exciting skills.
