The Advanced Skills Centre is a high-tech higher education hub dedicated to STEM training, and provides a quiet space for all higher education students to work.

One of the latest buildings to have been developed at the Abingdon campus, it was funded through the Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) and officially opened by Oxford West & Abingdon MP, Layla Moran.

Engineering and computing students can make the most of the cutting-edge equipment and learning tools that are available. This includes a Haas Five-Axis CNC Machine located in the engineering workshop, along with advanced robotics equipment and 3D printers. An adjoining classroom is equipped with specialist engineering CAD software that links into the workshop.

The wide-open seating and break out areas are perfect for student discussions and downtime in between classes. Modern classrooms add to the adult feel of the centre, and are home not just to our engineering higher education courses, but other subjects as well, such as our Business Management degree and Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) courses.
