The Creative Communications course is the perfect course for students wishing to develop a diverse and expansive skillset, reinforced by key transferable skills such as effective communication and teamwork. With the creative industry growing and changing all of the time, the boundaries between specialist fields are becoming less defined. By learning a host of different specialist skills and techniques on this course, you will get a head start when it comes to progressing into further or higher education, apprenticeship or a career.

This one year Level 2 Diploma course will introduce you to a range of new skills, covering several aspects of art, design and digital media. Over the course of the year you will work on exciting projects that develop your skills in drawing, ideas generation, character design, graphic design, illustration, printmaking, filming, editing, photography, model-making and animation. Recent projects have seen students produce zombie prosthetics for their own short horror film, building puppets based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and bringing them to life through stop-motion animation, and learning how to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to make striking graphic design outcomes based on their favourite films. This hands-on, practical course will introduce you to a broad range of creative materials, processes techniques and technologies, whilst learning about their application in the creative industries. Weekly tutorials, project work and visits to exhibitions will support your learning. Students progress towards exhibiting their own work at the end-of-year exhibition.

You will also be able to develop your English and maths skills through GCSE re-takes or Functional Skills qualifications.
You will undertake 35 hours of work experience to help you develop your employability skills and progression plans.

The final unit of the course will be your opportunity to identify your creative strengths and apply these to a self-directed project of your choosing. As a UAL accredited institution, we have the opportunity to select student Final Major Project work to exhibit in London at the end of the academic year after successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma.
