This course is designed to extend all aspects of dress making and garment construction using a commercial pattern. To read more complex patterns and use a wider range of sewing techniques and use of machines and attachments. You will gain confidence and skills in a relaxed and friendly learning environment.
During the course you will build upon your existing skills and knowledge to produce a summer dress that can be lined, a blouse or shirt. You will learn how to take body measurements and amend your pattern before producing a toile for fitting before making your dress, blouse or shirt.

Do not buy any materials until your course is confirmed as running.
Sewing machines are provided but you are welcome to bring your own. Information about patterns, fabric and sewing equipment will be given at the first session.
Some items to bring with you:A4 Ring binder & 12 plastic sleevesA4 lined and plain paper, pen, pencil, ruler, rubber and calculator. 1.5 metres of calico
Basic sewing equipment:Fabric, paper and embroidery scissors, colour-headed pins, hand sewing needles, tape measure, tailors chalk, marking pen.
