The main emphasis will be on your speaking and listening including some relevant cultural information. You will learn the basic way of greeting in a courteous way, also saying farewell. You will also learn how to introduce yourself with information such as your name, nationality and profession.
Course Aims: Continue to understand and make yourself understood in a further range of predictable everyday situations. The programme of Russian Beginners course includes the following topics: hotel, restaurant, personal interests, leisure activities, time, phone, theatre and home.Grammar: nouns and pronouns (some declensions), verbs (past and present tenses), numerals, adjectives and adverbs. By the end of the course you will be able to:• book accommodation in a hotel and make simple enquiries • order a meal in a restaurant • talk about hobbies and pastimes• express likes and dislikes• talk about a town /an area• ask and tell the time (in whole hours)• make a simple telephone conversation• make arrangements to meet people• understand TV programmes• talk about a theatre• describe houses and flats
