This course is designed to allow students with complex SEND needs to develop independence skills in both College and in the community.

The emphasis is on providing support to promote independence through a diverse curriculum which includes:
-Development of English and maths skills where appropriate leading to accredited qualifications at Entry Level and through a personalised RARPA based curriculum focusing on:-
- Independence and work related skills
- Community Projects
- Sport and Leisure
- Social Enterprise - the Propeller Project
-Work Experience

Assessments are carried out during the student's final year at school. A place will be offered depending on the outcome of the assessments. A link programme is offered during the summer term prior to the student leaving school.

It is anticipated that students will have a current Education Health and Care Plan. College are likely to be consulted by the Local Authority about whether a place can be offered but you will also need to apply for a place to the college.

Further assessments take place during the student's first term at college in order to confirm Pathway placement.

Personalised according to learners' needs
No formal entry requirements are necessary but students will have an EHCP and should demonstrate the ability to develop greater independence within a supported environment.
There will be a small weekly fee for cookery ingredients.

Due to COVID-19 we are not currently planning any trips as part of your course. If we are able to organise trips during your course, the cost of these will be communicated to you at the time. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate. Bursaries may also available to cover the cost of some trips.

Assessment for the main qualification is on demand and based on work developed over the year to build a portfolio of evidence, Functional Skills are assessed though formal assessment at given points throughout the year.
