On successful completion of this course you will be able to apply for a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship or seek Motor Vehicle technician level employment.

Successful completion of the Level 1 Motor Vehicle study programme alongside 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 and above usually including Maths and English or Functional Skills level 1 in Maths and English

In addition to the main course fees there is an additional cost of £338 for tool kits/work wear clothing and £54 for text books. There is also a trip fee of £60. (Costs are given for guidance only.)

Due to COVID-19 we are not currently planning any trips as part of your course. If we are able to organise trips during your course, the cost of these will be communicated to you at the time. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate. Bursaries may also available to cover the cost of some trips.

Level 2 Diploma In Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair

A variety of assessment methods are used including observation of practical workshop tasks, practical task write ups which detail how the task was performed, written theory knowledge papers and online exams. These will challenge your understanding of the content and concepts of automotive engineering. If required you will also study GSCE or Functional Skills English and/or maths to support your entry to employment, apprenticeship or further studies.

As well as the technical and practical skills you will gain a range of transferable skills including written and oral communication, team working, self-management, time management, leadership, self-confidence and self-directed learning.
