Recognised and sought after by employers on a global scale, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) qualifications provide professionals with the underpinning knowledge and skills necessary to go far in the Human Resource and Learning and Development career pathways.

A CIPD Level 3 Foundation Diploma qualification is the most comprehensive qualification at this level, covering the most units. It enables you to develop your skills of Human Resources & Learning & Development through studying more subjects and widening your breadth of knowledge in these areas.

This qualification provides opportunities to gain the essential knowledge and skills required to move into HR or L&D. It is suitable for those working in an HR or L&D support role but who do not hold a formal HR or L&D qualification.

The content is also suitable for those line managers with responsibility for people management and development looking to become a professional member of the CIPD (Associate CIPD).

Students should allow themselves time to study outside of the course too. The amount may vary depending upon the ability of the student, the level of the course, previous knowledge and speed of working. Homework will be set weekly.

These are the typical units you will study over the duration of the course:

• Resourcing Talent
• Managing Employment Relations
• Learning and Development
• Supporting Change
• HR Data
• Role of HR
• Personal Development in HR
• Performance and Reward Management.
Students can enrol on the CIPD Level 5 Certificate in Human Resource Management, and apply for Associate membership by demonstrating evidence of putting learning into practice, allowing them to become Associate Members of the CIPD.
Entry is subject to interview. No previous experience is required but some experience working in an HR or customer service position will be helpful. This course is only available for 19+ learners.
To find out more about course fees and how to apply, get in contact with College directly: call 01235 555 585 or email enquiries@abingdon-witney.ac.uk.

There are also extra costs for students to consider. There are copies of core texts available in the library, but students may wish to purchase their own.

You will need to pay exam fees for the two exams during the course and should you be unsuccessful, you would also need to pay retake fees. Currently, the exam fee is £67. Students must also join the CIPD as a studying member. The joining fee is £40 and an annual subscription of £90 whilst studying – this is paid directly to CIPD and this fee is correct at the time of printing.

You may also be invited to attend a CIPD student conference. This would be at the students’ expense and is currently £36 plus VAT for a member.

Due to COVID-19 we are not currently planning any trips as part of your course. If we are able to organise trips during your course, the cost of these will be communicated to you at the time. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate. Bursaries may also available to cover the cost of some trips.

There are bursaries available to help you with other course cost, call 01235 216 298 for more information.

The 19+ full fee button displays the full fee that may apply, the rules on fee reduction are complicated and we would encourage you to talk to our Admissions staff on 01235 555 585 to discuss your options. Also see the Course Fees & Finance page by searching Fees and bursaries link at the top of the screen.
