The course is designed to prepare you to work at a manager / supervisor level with children from 0-5 years and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the Early Years sector.
This wide ranging course covers Health & Well-being, Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, Theoretical perspectives on Child development, Education & Play, Maths and Literacy and the transition to school.
This one year intensive course combines college-based study with work-based practice, allowing you to relate theory to practice. You will be assessed in your work placements as well as through written assignments and task work. You will be required to put together a portfolio of evidence which will be marked by your tutor and assessor. All work will be externally verified by CACHE.
To complete the course you are required to gain 61 credits from mandatory units which include 2 Longitudinal studies on a child, and to complete your placement hours.
You will be required to attend college for 1 day a week from 10am to 3.15pm (currently a Friday) and you must be working in an Early Years environment, either voluntary or employed, for a minimum of 12 hours a week.
