If you are wanting to work with children in a variety of different Early Years settings such as Pre-Schools, Day Nurseries, Childminders, School Nursery or Foundation classes, then the course is for you!

This course is designed to provide you with the appropriate education and training to enable you to work with children from 0-5 years of age, and their families, in a variety of settings and environments within the Early Years sector.

This course covers Child Development & Education as well as subjects such as Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity, Supporting Play and Observation, Assessment & Planning.

The programme combines college based study with assessed work-base practice, allowing you to relate theory into your practice. This course will be assessed by a combination of work-based assessments and written assignment work. You will be required to put together a portfolio of evidence which will be marked ongoing by your tutor and assessor. All work will then be externally verified by CACHE.

To achieve this course you will be required to achieve 33 credits from core mandatory units and your choice of 2 optional units.

You will be required to attend college for 1 morning a week 10am-12 noon (Currently a Friday), and you must be working in an Early Years environment for a minimum of 8 hours a week either voluntary or employed.

Students can progress onto the CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator).
•Placements secured.
•A good standard of written and spoken English is required.
•The option to complete GCSE English or Maths alongside the course is available and will help progression.
•A clear DBS check and a successful interview.
