Abingdon CampusThis new and exciting introduction to Business Studies, focussing on Customer Service and Retail launches in September 2023.This introductory level study programme provides learners with the opportunity to develop their understanding of Customer Service and the Retail Industry, both in a theory and practical sense. Learners are given opportunities to practice and develop their skills before they can be implemented during work experience. The delivering tutors have extensive Customer Service experience, having been responsible for providing excellent customer service across a range of organisations.
For some, this will be their first step into studying Business Studies, whilst for others, it will prove valuable as they begin their journey into a variety of industries such as Retail Operations.
Regardless of the intended destination, this study programme has been designed to not only be full of valuable content but delivered in a fun and engaging way. All the while with the additional feature of being able to achieve two vocational qualifications simultaneously.
Units include:– Understand working in a customer service environment– Communication in customer service– Principles of personal performance and development– Principles of working in a business environment– Work with others in a business environment– Understanding the business of retail– Understanding how individuals and teams contribute to the effectiveness of a retail business– Understanding the control, handling and replenishment of stock in a retail business– Understanding the retail selling proces
Naturally, the next step is the Business Level 2 Transition Programme, an apprenticeship or alternative Level 2 programmes.
English & Maths GCSE at Grade 2, or Level 1 Functional Skills in both subjects.
Study trips and visits linked to units will be arranged as part of the programme of study. Any applicable fees regarding these events will be advised at the start of the course.As part of your course we may organise trips to assist you with your learning. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate. Bursaries may also available to cover the cost of some trips.There are bursaries available to help you with other course costs.
