Note regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19): Due to the nature of our Online and On Campus courses, with key concepts being taught online through high-quality video lectures, students are able to continue their studies seamlessly with social distancing in place. Some of the regular ‘On Campus’ lessons can be replaced by remote ‘virtual classroom’ sessions led by college tutors. This flexible approach can be easily adapted to suit government guidance and college policies.

We appreciate that the pace of everyday life is getting faster, which is why we’ve looked for new ways of teaching – ways that can make it easier to study alongside work and life commitments.

We want to provide courses that fit with students, rather than the other way around. With this in mind, Abingdon & Witney College have worked in partnership with Mindful Education to create a suite of blended learning courses to make learning more flexible, combining online learning with professional digital media content with face to face lessons in the classroom. This allows students much greater freedom over how, when and what they learn, enabling those who previously could not have committed to a full AAT Level 2 course on campus to achieve this by studying course content on their own device.

Please note: classroom attendance is fortnightly, on every other Monday.

The internationally recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification enables those working in accounting and to gain knowledge, practical experience and that all-important certification.

The Level 2 course covers a range of key areas, including:

· Bookkeeping Transactions
· Bookkeeping Controls
· Elements of Costing
· Work Effectively in Finance
· Computerised Accounts

Students also develop business communications and lifelong learning skills, applying what they learn on the course to the wider industry context.
Successful completion of this course offers progression to the Level 3 AAT Diploma.
Willingness to study accounting and finance in relation to work place activities. Previous knowledge of accounting would be an advantage but it is not essential. AAT does not set any prerequisites for the study of the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting. However, for the best chance of success, we recommend that students begin their studies with a good standard of English and maths.
In addition to the main course fees given below, there are extra costs involved for the student to consider on top of the course fees.

AAT registration is required to sit the examinations. This includes a £41 one-off initial registration admin fee (where applicable) and a £90 subscription fee (payable yearly). Exam fees for a first sitting are included in the course fee; however, resits are chared at the relevant AAT exam entry rate plus a £10 Abingdon & Witney College admin fee (prices correct at time of printing).

There are bursaries available to help you with other course cost, call 01235 216 298 for more information.

Due to COVID-19 we are not currently planning any trips as part of your course. If we are able to organise trips during your course, the cost of these will be communicated to you at the time. Trips are optional, and you will not be penalised if you choose not to participate. Bursaries may also available to cover the cost of some trips.
