The internationally-recognised AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualifications enable those working in accounting to gain knowledge, practical experience and that all-important certification. This course provides an opportunity to complete an intensive, fast track, AAT Level 2 qualification. This can be a standalone course or can be completed in preparation for progression onto an AAT Level 3 qualification in September 2021. You will need to be prepared to attend every lesson and complete work in your own time to achieve the qualification within this time frame

You will be taught using a range of teaching and learning environments which will include lectures, workshops and seminars. Some sessions may be online. Full details of course content can be found at www.aat.org.uk

Students should expect to spend at least 3-6 hours per week outside of their normal timetabled day in order to complete the requirements of the programme.

These are the typical units you will study over the duration of the course. All of the units within the qualification are mandatory.

Modules of study include:
• Bookkeeping transactions
• Bookkeeping controls
• Elements of costing
• Computerised accounts
• Work effectively in finance
The accountancy and finance knowledge developed in this qualification is also the underpinning knowledge needed for the higher-level accountancy and financial skills developed in the AAT Advanced and Professional Accounting Qualifications::

• AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting.
• ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting
• Oxford Brookes University BSc in Applied Accounting
Willingness to study accounting and finance in relation to work place activities. Previous knowledge of accounting would be an advantage but it is not essential. AAT does not set any prerequisites for the study of the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting.
