This short course is specifically designed to support the carer providing individualised care that will maintain the person's dignity whilst using practical tips, methods and skills to manage personal hygiene. Basic tips on managing to move and handle their loved one without injury to themselves is included and is adapted to suit the physical agility of the learner. The aim is to provide all carers with some practical tips that helps them to care for their loved one safely.
This short course will offer learners the opportunity to gain basic moving and handling knowledge to use within the home environment.¿ The topics covered include finding out more about how to move and handle someone safely, back care and taking care of yourself. It will provide practical tips and ideas, including how to deal with falls and where and how to source equipment to assist in moving and handling. It provides practical tips, methods and skills to manage personal hygiene to provide individualised care that will maintain the person's dignity. The course will include how to Identify appropriate care plans and routines.
