I am currently a Degree Apprentice at Nielsen studying Business and Management at the College.
Passions of mine include being a Degree Apprentice Ambassador for Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Apprentice Ambassador for Young Apprentice Ambassador Network. Through these roles I regularly attend schools and colleges, talking about how a Degree Apprenticeship has transformed my career and raising awareness of apprenticeships for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Previously, I was nominated as the Higher Education Student Representative and successfully upheld the interest, concerns and ideas of my cohort, balancing these interests with the direction and path the College was taking. I also recently received regional funding for leading a production shoot to raise awareness for Degree Apprenticeships nationally through digital platforms.
Now as a Student Governor, I am eager to discuss my ideas for shaping the future of education with the Board, especially in the context of a local college that has demonstrated excellence in providing apprenticeships with established links in the business community.
Externally, my role as a professional tennis coach at the weekends, through Oxford’s Parks Tennis Social Enterprise, has enabled me to work with children and adults from a diverse range of backgrounds, and is something I am passionate about.
